VALREO project presented at the TBMCE 2025 conference in Portorož as part of a plenary lecture and poster presentation

From September 3rd to September 5th, 2025, a conference on Technologies and Business Models for Circular Economy – TBMCE 2025 was held in Portorož, Slovenia.

At the conference, the VALREO project was presented in two ways, namely with an invited plenary lecture by Prof. Dr. Marina Tišma, project manager from Osijek, and with a poster presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Petrovič, project manager from Maribor.

The plenary lecture was titled Fungal-driven Lignocellulosic Biorefineries: Bridging Bioeconomy, Sustainability and Climate Resilience, where the main topic was lignocellulosic biorefineries based on the solid-state fermentation process, where lignocellulosic waste is biologically treated with the help of fungi, and their impact on the environment. The plenary lecture was followed by three other lectures on the topic of lignocellulosic materials, which opened an interesting discussion.

In the poster presentation titled Conversion of solid-state fermentation residues into solid biofuel, some novelties of the VALREO project were presented.
